FUNDING BOOST FOR LANCEFIELD AGRICULTURAL SHOW

Joanne Duncan, Member for Macedon has welcomed a Brumby government grant of $6,600 to the Lancefield Agricultural Society.
The Lancefield Agricultural Society have used their grant to fund the purchase of a hundred sheep yard panels for exhibition at the show.
This grant provides valuable support to local volunteer run Societies to improve show facilities and equipment.
The Lancefield Show will be held on Sunday October 17 this year and is sure to be a wonderful day out for families with all the fun of a country show, including horse and dog events, farm animals, rides and food stalls.
“TheBrumby Government’s on-going funding of local agricultural and show societiesrecognises the vital role played by these organisations in our local community,” Ms Duncan said
The Brumby Government provides almost $300,000 annually to agricultural and pastoral societies across rural and regional Victoria, Agriculture Minister Joe Helper said.
The grants are provided on a matching $2 from government to $1 from societies arrangement, upon completion of works.
“The Brumby Government is working with agricultural and pastoral societies in Victoria to ensure they continue playing a crucial role in the well-being of their communities.”
Since 2000, nearly $2.6 million in assistance under the program to upgrade facilities and services has been provided to agricultural societies around the State under the program.
